How to reflect the role and advantages of diaphragm coupling in friction transmission?

Diaphragm coupling is a commonly used transmission device used to connect two shafts and transmit torque. Its functions and advantages are reflected in the following aspects:

Transmit reliable torque: The diaphragm disc coupling uses an elastic element - the diaphragm disc to transmit torque. The diaphragm has good elastic properties and can absorb and compensate for the relative displacement between the shafts and the relative axis angle deviation, thereby reducing or eliminating vibration, impact and noise in the transmission system and ensuring the reliability of the transmitted torque.

High transmission efficiency: The diaphragm coupling has a simple structure, a large contact area of the friction pair, and a large friction coefficient, so it has high transmission efficiency. Compared with other transmission devices, the transmission efficiency of diaphragm couplings can generally reach more than 90%, and can effectively transmit input torque to the output shaft.

High torsional stiffness: Diaphragm disc coupling has high torsional stiffness. The elastic characteristics of the diaphragm enable it to have a certain torsional variable stiffness, which can provide appropriate stiffness according to the loading situation to ensure the reliability and stability of the transmission. At the same time, the diaphragm coupling also has high axial stiffness and radial stiffness, which can effectively resist the influence of external forces and vibrations.

Good automatic centering performance: Due to the elastic characteristics of the diaphragm coupling, it can automatically center and maintain good transmission performance even when the relative displacement of the shaft and the relative axis angle deviation are large. This enables the diaphragm coupling to adapt to a certain range of relative displacement and angular deviation during operation, reducing the difficulty of assembly and maintenance.

Small size and light weight: The structure of the diaphragm disc coupling is relatively simple and uses an elastic diaphragm disc as the transmission medium, so it is small in size and light in weight. This reduces the size and mass of the transmission, reducing the impact on the transmission system and cost.

High reliability: The diaphragm coupling uses a metal diaphragm as the transmission medium, which has good wear resistance, fatigue resistance and corrosion resistance, and can work reliably for a long time in harsh working environments. At the same time, the diaphragm coupling has a simple structure and requires no lubrication, reducing maintenance cycles and costs.
